The April fraternity meeting went very well. Gerda gave a great presentation on St. Faustina – her life, calling and visions – and the history of Divine Mercy. We then gathered in small groups and discussed Article 5 of our Rule, then shared our discussions, during which members also got to know each other better. Gerda then led the group in praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet before we had our regular closing prayer. A spiritually rich meeting. We also distributed the April 2019 member directory.
At the May meeting Michele gave members a background in Franciscan spirituality and the views of theologian John Duns Scotus on God’s plan of salvation and the Immaculate Conception. Thank you, Michele! We then formed discussion groups and discussed Article 9 of our Rule, which is about Mary. We shared various aspects of our Blessed Mother: prayer, her meaning for Franciscans, devotions, and more. Thank you to all who participated. For those who could not attend, thank you for being with us in spirit.
