Mount St. Sepulchre Fraternity

Fraternity members held a discussion of racial justice as our ongoing formation topic during the July 19 meeting. Spiritual Assistant Fr. Jim Gardiner began the discussion by reading the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ prayer to heal racial division and Vice Minister Michele Dunne read the St Margaret of Cortona OFS Region statement on racism as well as reviewing Article 15 of the OFS Rule. Several members of the fraternity shared their personal experiences of racial discrimination in work and other settings, while other members spoke about their efforts to foster understanding and mutual respect among people of different races and ethnicities through prayer, service, and loving actions. Fraternity members expressed their gratitude for the courage and honesty of those who witnessed to their experiences. We closed with Evening Prayer.
